Corned Beef House

Sandwiches usually aren't my thing.  But I don't mind having the occasional sandwich.  And I'm guaranteed to never leave hungry from the Corned Beef House.  There are two sizes: Large and HUGE.

It's changed hands at some point in the last few years, but the size of the sandwiches have remained the same.

We didn't have the namesake sandwich, but we did order the Roast Beef and the Club.  Warning: The baked fries which comes with the platter are addictive.

Parting thoughts: Hungry?  Like basic sandwiches done right?  Then this is your place.

Terroni - Great Homemade Pastas

Terroni has great pizzas and sandwiches.  But their homemade pastas are rustic and simply put: GOOD.

My favourite pasta at Terroni is the Seafood Linguine (Linguini al frutti di mare).  I like to have it with San Pelli's Aranciata.  Superb.

Parting thoughts: Go to Terroni as often as you can.

Crush for Lunch - Back Again

Back again and this time tried the Fish & Chips.  One of their best on the menu right now.

Noodle King

One of my food court favourites.  Noodle King in the underground between the Sheraton Centre and the Bay on Queen St. W.

BBQ pork with egg noodle soup.  At $4.95 it's a steal.  And delicious, too.

Mizu - New Japanese Resto on King W

Joe came home and suggested that we try the new King St. W. "Japanese" restaurant which opened recently called Mizu Japanese Cuisine Oyster House (291 King St W).  "Japanese" in quotes because the management is not Japanese and not as authentic as it can be.

Wasn't very thrilled with it.  It was pretty expensive for what it was and the food wasn't that great.  But I have a lot to catch up on, so the following are some pics of our dinner:

Mizu_oysters
The oysters were ok.  Nothing to write home about.

Mizu_edamame
Joe liked the edamame, but there was way too many chili pepper on it for me.

Mizu_soup_2
I ordered a miso soup, but the waiter upsold me on what I thought was a seafood miso soup.  It ended up being a clear soup with seafood.  I was disappointed because I really wanted a miso soup and I told the waiter so.

Mizu_sashimi_2
Appetizer sashimi with an additional order of rice.  Again, it was ok.

Mizu_chicken
Joe's chicken teriyaki was not exactly what we expected, but he liked it well enough.

Parting thoughts: It was mediocre.  It's possible to get a better Japanese meal for the same price.
